Green ammonia supply deal
Indian renewable energy developer InSolare Energy, in consortium with SCC Infrastructure, says that it has signed Green Ammonia Purchase Agreements (GAPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the supply of 85,000 t/a of green ammonia under India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission 13 April. The agreements, executed through two separate special purpose vehicles, involve a total estimated investment of around $400 million, InSolare said in a statement.
Under the framework, 70,000 t/a green ammonia will be supplied to Madhya Bharat Agro Products in Dhule, Maharashtra, with the remaining 15,000 t/a destined for Paradeep Phosphates in Mangalore, Karnataka. Both supply agreements are structured over a 10-year period. The deals form part of India’s broader push to develop domestic green ammonia production and reduce reliance on conventional, carbon-intensive imports – a strategic priority that has taken on added urgency as the country’s ammonia supply chains face acute pressure from the ongoing Middle East conflict.
