    E-methanol JV for Québec

    Written by Natalie Noor-Drugan

Canadian ethanol producer Greenfield Global and Danish renewable energy company European Energy have formed a joint venture to produce e-methanol in Québec. The planned plant will have capacity of 48,000 t/y. It will be built next to Greenfield’s ethanol facility near Montréal.

The joint venture builds on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in 2025. Preliminary engineering studies are complete, and construction of the grid connection is under way. The partners will begin talks with offtakers immediately.
