US backs eight fertilizer projects
Written by Natalie Noor-Drugan
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has selected eight fertilizer manufacturing projects for approximately $573 million in proposed federal funding, supporting more than $1.34 billion in total planned investment. The projects range from a new sulphate of potash plant to modular ammonia units and upgrades to existing factories.
The federal contribution would meet part of the projects’ costs, rather than provide the entire $1.34 billion. The selections must still progress through the funding process and should not be read as completed grant awards.
