ADNOC Gas has appointed Fatema Al Nuaimi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1st, 2025. This appointment follows the resignation of Ahmed Alebri, who led the company for nearly two years and has assumed the role of CEO at ADNOC Sour Gas. Al Nuaimi, an accomplished industry leader with extensive experience within ADNOC’s gas and energy sectors, is tasked with steering ADNOC Gas’ ambitious growth strategy focused on business expansion, decarbonisation, and future-proofing operations.

Metso has appointed Sami Takaluoma the company’s new president and CEO, effective from November 1, 2024. Metso’s outgoing president and CEO, Pekka Vauramo , will continue with the company as per his contract until the end of 2024, to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. Sami Takaluoma has been with Metso since 1997 and has led Metso’s Services business area since 2021. He has been a member of Met-so’s Leadership Team since 2017.

The AGM took place on the final day of the IFA Annual Conference 2024. Desmond Long has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of BASF Shanshan Battery Materials Co., Ltd effective April 1, 2024. In his new role, Desmond will lead the business management of the company.
Sasol and Topsoe have appointed Jan Toschka as CEO of the joint venture established by the two companies to develop, build, own and operate sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) ventures and to market the products. Previously Toschka was president of Global Aviation for Shell, responsible for Shell’s global network of operations, joint ventures and sales of fuels, lubricants and sustainable solutions to the aviation industry. During his tenure at Shell, he has led teams across sales, mergers and acquisitions, trading, and retail businesses globally, spanning various industries including Marine and Retail. Toschka will assume his new role as CEO on 1 March 2024 and the joint venture will be launched during the same month. The new company will be headquartered in The Netherlands.
