The International Fertilizer Association (IFA) elected four new board members to its Board of Directors during the organisation’s Strategic General Meeting in London in November. The new board members are: Fahad Al-Battar, SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company; Youssef El Bari, OCP Nutricrops; Ahmed El-Hoshy, Fertiglobe plc; and Marc Hechler, EuroChem Group AG. The Strategic General Meeting also re-elected Marcos Sabelli, CEO of Profertil Agro for the second term.
ICL has announced that Raviv Zoller , the company’s president and CEO for the past seven years, is expected to leave the company in early 2025, following both the appointment of a replacement and a formal transition.
ICL has announced that Elad Aharonson will become its new president and CEO, effective 13th March 2025. The company’s board of directors approved the appointment on 23rd December. Elad replaces ICL’s outgoing president and CEO Raviv Zoller who is leaving the company in a planned departure.
Metso has appointed Sami Takaluoma the company’s new president and CEO, effective from November 1, 2024. Metso’s outgoing president and CEO, Pekka Vauramo , will continue with the company as per his contract until the end of 2024, to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. Sami Takaluoma has been with Metso since 1997 and has led Metso’s Services business area since 2021. He has been a member of Met-so’s Leadership Team since 2017.
Sachin Nijhawan has been appointed as the new CEO of thyssenkrupp nucera US, and Juergen Grasinger was named Chief Operating Officer to advance the company’s international growth strategy and expand its global leadership in the manufacturing and supply of hydrogen production technology. Based out of the thyssenkrupp’s Houston office, Nijhawan will be responsible for the business activities of the US operations.
Mark Thompson became Nutrien’s executive vice president (EVP) and chief financial officer (CFO) on 26th August. Mr Thompson succeeds Pedro Farah , who will remain with the company in an advisory capacity until 31st December as part of a succession plan.

SGS Sulphur Experts has appointed Patrick Beck as the new CEO. Beck brings over two decades of leadership experience in the oil and gas industry and what Sulphur Experts describe as “a wealth of strategic insight and operational excellence to the team, steering the company towards continued innovation and engineering excellence.”
