H2SITE secures funding for Norwegian ammonia-to-power project

Spanish hydrogen technology developer H2SITE has secured €3.4 million in funding for its HydraNord Power project in Norway. The project aims to scale to a commercial level the company’s onboard ammonia-to-power system for the maritime sector. HydraNord Power will convert ammonia into high-purity hydrogen directly onboard vessels. The system will produce up to 1 t/d of hydrogen and supply maritime fuel cells delivering 700 kW of net electrical power.

This capacity addresses “a real onboard power requirement with a standardised system that can be replicated across vessels and scaled into larger installations,” Andrés Galnares, CEO of H2SITE said.
