Caitlyn India Pvt Ltd (CIPL) has announced a $46 million investment to build a 50,000 t/a phosphoric acid plant in India. The plant aims to reduce import dependence and boost the country’s fertiliser self-sufficiency. Commissioning is planned for the financial year 2027. The facility, to be set up in a port-accessible industrial zone in southern India, will use hemihydrate-dihydrate technology to produce high purity phosphoric acid and cleaner gypsum by-products. A captive sulphuric acid unit will also be included to support efficient operations. Initially, the acid produced will supply Indian fertiliser manufacturers, with plans for captive use in future fertiliser production.

Nishant Kanodia, chairman of Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd, has been appointed to the board of directors of the International Fertilizer Association (IFA). The appointment was formalised at the IFA Annual Conference 2025 in Monaco, with the theme of ‘Investing in the Future of Food’. With approximately 500 members across more than 80 countries, IFA champions policy, innovation, and sustainable fertilizer practices that contribute to global food security.

Worley has announced that Tiernan O’Rourke will step down as the company’s Chief Financial Officer effective from 30 June 2025. O’Rourke is retiring from full-time work after a long and successful career culminating in nearly four years of dedicated service to Worley, though he intends to take on advisory and consulting activities in the private sector. Worley’s Chief Executive Officer, Chris Ashton, said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work alongside Tiernan since he joined the Worley team and see his decades of experience benefit the business in areas such as capital management, financial process improvements and talent development to name a few. I wish him well as he transitions away from the CFO role.”

BASF Corporation has appointed Heather Remley as its new president and chief executive officer, effective April 1, 2025. She takes the helm of the North American arm of BASF SE, one of the world’s largest chemical companies. Remley has a background in global leadership and operations. Most recently, she was president of BASF’s global engineering services division in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Before that, she led the company’s North American petrochemicals business as senior vice president in Houston. Since joining BASF in 2016, she has held key positions across the US, China, and Germany.

Klaus Ohlig will succeed Fulvio Federico, who has decided to not extend his contract for personal reasons. To ensure a smooth and seamless transition, Fulvio Federico will continue to support thyssenkrupp nucera on a consultancy basis for at least one year, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to maintain continuity and stability.

ADNOC Gas has appointed Fatema Al Nuaimi as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1st, 2025. This appointment follows the resignation of Ahmed Alebri, who led the company for nearly two years and has assumed the role of CEO at ADNOC Sour Gas. Al Nuaimi, an accomplished industry leader with extensive experience within ADNOC’s gas and energy sectors, is tasked with steering ADNOC Gas’ ambitious growth strategy focused on business expansion, decarbonisation, and future-proofing operations.
