Sulphur and sulphuric acid: Meet the CRU team in Berlin
Written by Beatrice Bedeschi
The Sulphur+Sulphuric Acid magazine team will be in Berlin at CRU’s Sulphur+Sulphuric Acid Expoconference on November 3-5 to meet readers, contributors and industry contacts.
Managing editor Lisa Connock will deliver the opening welcome and will moderate a panel on Thursday morning on “Sulphur Recovery Processes: Alternatives to Conventional Claus”, while editor Richard Hands will moderate the industry keynote panel, “Reshaping the Global Sulphur and Sulphuric Acid Industry”.
Joining Richard will be Craig W. Jorgenson, president and chief executive of TSI; Marco Brunsendorf, head of sales smelter products at Aurubis; and Maud Bergsjø, sector group manager at CEFIC–ESA. The discussion will examine the widening supply-demand gap and its implications for fertilizer production, alongside smelter dependency, European regulation, new regional capacity and emerging demand for semiconductor-grade acid.
CRU’s analysts will also feature prominently in the market programme. Peter Harrisson, sulphur, sulphuric acid and fertilizers market analyst will present the global sulphur outlook, examining supply disruption, changing trade flows and supply security. Fertilizer market analyst Viviana Alvarado will discuss tight sulphuric acid availability and the impact of China’s export restrictions, while Willis Thomas, head of fertilizer markets will explore sulphur and sulphuric acid demand from battery materials production and emerging battery technologies.
Delegates can put their questions to these speakers and the wider CRU team during “Talking Sulphur and Sulphuric Acid”, an informal afternoon discussion on markets and trade. There will also be opportunities to meet the magazine’s editors and CRU’s market specialists throughout the event.
