Gouda Refractories Group acquires Revestimientos Refractarios

Gouda Refractories Group has acquired Revestimientos Refractarios (RR), based in Madrid. Founded in 1979, RR specialises in the installation of refractory materials, serving customers across a wide range of industries, including petrochemicals, (waste to) energy, cement, and other industrial sectors. It is a trusted partner for the installation of refractory materials, hexmesh, anchoring, engineering, technical assistance, project management, inspections and supervision for shutdowns and turnarounds across the European Union. The company has a long history of cooperation with Gouda Refractories, which has intensified in recent years and which, due to a natural moment of succession, has led to this acquisition.

Jorge Palacios will be the new Managing Director from July 1st onwards, following the stepping back of his father, Sixto Palacios, one of the founders of the company, but the latter will continue to support the RR team as Senior Advisor. Together with Gouda, RR will be able to provide an even higher level of service and a complete refractory solution to customers, with additional technical support and high-level refractory solutions (bricks, castables and precast). Gouda says that the acquisition will strengthen the market position of both companies and emphasise the commitment of Gouda to grow in the development, engineering, production, installation and maintenance of refractory solutions.

Gouda, since October 2024 part of Shinagawa Refra Group Co., Ltd, is an international operating group of companies, consisting of a high-end refractory solutions producing company combined with a refractory services and installation network globally and with own group companies in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Portugal and Sweden.
