Axens signs agreement with Egyptian Refining Company

Axens says that it has strengthened its collaboration with Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) via a long-term agreement aimed at maximising asset value and supporting ERC’s evolving needs in product supply, digital transformation, and refinery performance optimisation. Under the agreement, Axens will use its integrated portfolio of technologies, equipment, catalysts, and services to support ERC’s operational, economic, and sustainability objectives.

Dr Mohamed SAAD, President at ERC, commented: “ERC values its strong partnership with Axens and the confidence this agreement brings for the future. This collaboration will help us continue enhancing refinery performance, maximizing operational efficiency, and delivering high-quality products to support Egypt’s energy needs.”

ERC operates refining complex in the greater Cairo area which plays a key role in meeting Egypt’s growing demand for high-quality petroleum products by converting lower-value feedstocks into cleaner transportation fuels that meet international standards.

Sulphur recovery contract for Tayseer Gas Project

Worley Comprimo, in partnership with BASF, has been awarded a contract to deliver engineering and licensing services for integrated gas treatment technology and sulphur recovery units at Oman’s Budour Tayseer Gas Project. The project is designed to produce 2 million scf/d of sweet gas, 950 m³/day of condensate, and 80 t/d of sulphur. It aims to strengthen Oman’s energy infrastructure by ensuring a reliable domestic gas supply under a design-build-own-operate-maintain framework, while supporting in-country value initiatives.
