Stamicarbon has optimised urea granulation to meet rising global fertilizer demands by improving product robustness, reducing capital and operating costs through a simplified design.
Casale’s high-performance finishing technologies combine flexibility and innovation with seamless integration and sustainability across the nitrogen fertilizer value chain. Gabriele Marcon and Ken Monstrey of Casale present the latest developments in Casale’s comprehensive portfolio of fertilizer finishing technologies and highlight recent projects.
Emerging evidence suggests that by-products used as fertilizers, particularly ammonium sulphate, may emerge as winners from the EU’s implementation of the carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM). In this article, Franck Boher of Upgraid investigates whether by-products can help reshape sustainable fertilizer production in Europe.
Casale’s fluid bed granulation tail gas treatment for nitrogen-based fertilizer employs double temperature scrubbing technology, which handles the granulator exhaust air separately from the cooler exhaust air. The technology can combine dust removal with ammonia abatement in the same installation to meet strict tail gas limitations such as 10 mg/Nm3 for dust and 10 mg/Nm3 for ammonia. Ken Monstrey of Casale explains the key features of the Casale scrubbing technology.
IPCO has expanded its Rotoform range with the high yield XG model for granulation of suspensions. Designed for applications such as sulphur bentonite and urea mixes as well as NPK and other fertilizers, this new Rotoform model can convert solid-containing product melts into consistent, high quality pastilles from 2-4 mm diameter.
Granulation technology generates a premium urea end-product in large volumes capable of withstanding lengthy storage and extreme shipping conditions. Prilling technology, meanwhile, given its typically lower investment cost, can be an attractive option for smaller-scale urea producers supplying local markets. Stamicarbon’s Dr Wilfried Dirkx, Ahmed Shams and Branislav Manic explore the technology options for urea finishing.
With the addition of Green Granulation technology (GGT), Casale is the only industry licensor able to provide customers with an entire nitrogen fertilizer complex. Ken Monstrey and Matteo Fumagalli of Casale outline the benefits of this technology and its revolutionary new elements.
TOYO has a long history in urea granulation technologies and has recently added two new technologies to its product line-up.
Advances in technology, equipment and reagents are enhancing phosphate fertilizer production. Optimisation of standard equipment is also vital for ensuring process efficiency.
