    Written by Sofia D'Olivo

Casale announced that it has completed start-up of a 450 t/d weak nitric acid plant for BorsodChem MCHZ in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The facility achieved first nitric acid production on 30 September 2026, in line with the planned project schedule. The new plant supports BorsodChem’s nitric acid requirements for its aniline production chain.

The contract was awarded in 2024 on a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. Casale Project, the group’s Czech subsidiary, executed the project using Casale’s DualPURE™ dual-pressure nitric acid technology.
