Clariant has announced a reorganisation into three global business units instead of the previous five, with the business unit presidents to be located in the regions with the largest customer base and highest growth potential for the respective businesses. It will also create a new executive steering committee that will include the CEO, the CFO and the presidents of the new business units. The company says that the new structure aims to reduce hierarchical layers, foster greater accountability, speed up decision-making processes and enhance customer proximity, while strengthening diversity.

Anglo American plc has announced a number of senior leadership changes. Seamus French has decided to leave Anglo American at the end of 2021 after 14 years with the company and will be replaced as CEO of Bulk Commodities by Themba Mkhwanazi , currently CEO of Kumba Iron Ore. Mpumi Zikalala , currently managing director of De Beers Managed Operations, has been appointed as CEO of Kumba. Both appointments will take effect on 1st January 2022. Mpumi’s successor at De Beers Managed Operations will be confirmed in due course.

Calgary-based Pieridae Energy Ltd says that it has hired a new Chief Operating Officer as from April 5th. Darcy Reding is a professional engineer with 30 years of experience in small and medium-sized private and public upstream oil and gas companies, 20 years of that in leadership roles. Reding spent the last decade at NAL Resources as VP of Operations and VP Operations & Geoscience. Prior to NAL, Reding held technical and leadership roles with Norcen Energy, Northrock Resources, Samson Exploration and Enterra Energy Trust.

Corrosion Resistant Alloys, LP, a manufacturer of high-grade corrosion resistant alloy tubes, has appointed Tom W. Slaughter in a business development and advisory role. Based in Houston, Slaughter will be responsible for building relationships with strategic partners, including customers and suppliers. Slaughter’s background is as an industry leader in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) and deep gas applications with more than 40 years of global industry experience. Most recently, Slaughter served as president of Energy Alloys, Advanced Tubulars beginning in 2007. Prior to this role, he served as president of CRA from 2001 to 2007 where he had full responsibility for global sales and supply chain and worked directly with domestic and international end users of specialty CRA OCTG products.
