Nextchem to supply technology for Chinese urea plant

Nextchem will provide the urea production technology for a new 3,150 t/d urea plant in China. As part of the deal, the company will provide the technology license, process design package and proprietary equipment through its nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon.

The project will be based on Nextchem’s proprietary NX STAMI™ technology for urea production, which relies on an energy saving design that enables a 35% steam consumption reduction and a 16% decrease in cooling water usage, the company said in a statement. The deal involves an unspecified “prominent international player,” it said, but, contacted by CRU, Maire Group was not immediately available to elaborate on the deal.
