Ameropa buys Peru’s Inkafert
Written by Natalie Noor-Drugan
Ameropa has completed its acquisition of Inka Agri‑Resources S.A.C. (Inkafert), a bulk fertiliser distributor based in Lima, Peru. The deal extends Ameropa’s bulk fertiliser distribution footprint into Peru and strengthens its access to a key South American agricultural market. Inkafert will join Ameropa’s network but keep its existing team and operating structure, ensuring continuity for customers.
“Our approach is to build on what already works well,” said Josh Zacharias, CEO at Ameropa. “We are impressed by Inkafert’s team, strong customer relationships and market position, and we see great potential to grow together while staying true to what makes the business successful.” Inkafert, for its part, highlights Ameropa’s global reach and says the alliance gives it access to a broader international network and new logistical, commercial and knowledge capabilities, while preserving its close relationships with Peruvian clients.
Inkafert positions the tie‑up as a way to support the sustainable development of Peruvian agriculture and to open new opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Ameropa, a family‑run Swiss group founded in 1948 and active in fertilisers, grains and oilseeds, frames the transaction as part of its strategy to be a long‑term, reliable partner in bulk fertilisers and agriculture, linking strong local distributors into its global production, trading and logistics chain.
