UK Energy signs MoU on nuclear to ammonia project
UK Energy Group said in a stock exchange announcement on 14 October that its subsidiary UK Energy Storage had signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK Nuclear to explore co-locating advanced and small modular reactors with green hydrogen and ammonia production and underground energy storage.
The partners will study how power, heat and steam from the reactors could support electrolytic hydrogen production and its conversion to ammonia, with the hydrogen and ammonia potentially stored in UK Energy Group’s planned underground geological storage facilities.
